Claire has various experience working in the education sector and is available for private one to one tuition.
“I am a passionate and experienced educator who believes in supporting students through positive engagement, and providing them with the confidence, knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their studies. I offer one to one tutoring for primary pupils Key stage 1-2 and secondary pupils key stage 3-4 in English, drama, history and citizenship. I am a professional actor with a BA (Hons) in theatre studies and a post graduate certificate in museum & heritage management. I have developed a wide range of experience over the years working as an educator in various roles, such as, tutoring, education facilitation, cover supervisor and teaching assistant.
Previously I have worked for the Brent Council inclusion and alternative education services as a tutor. Here I taught GCSE English Literature and history of the National Curriculum through one to one support for students with behavioural and SEND needs. This allowed me to understand the individual requirements of each student and to create a learning plan to achieve their objectives by offering a safe, supportive and caring environment that will allow them to gain the grades they need to achieve their career ambitions.
Currently I work as a freelance educator for the National Justice Museum based at the Royal courts of justice. I plan and deliver project funded workshops, such as, Mayor's fund for London Theatre of Law and Shakespeare on trial (in conjunction with the Globe theatre). These workshops are tailored for Key stage 2-5 of the National curriculum in History, Law and citizenship.
I continue to work with an education agency throughout London primary and secondary schools.”
“I have known Claire Finn since she joined as a class teacher at Brent alternative education services. Ms Claire was highly conversant with the National curriculum and was particularly skilful in making less confident pupils feel valued. She maintained discipline well and was popular with her pupils. I wish her all the best for her next teaching role.” - Mrs Irfana Kiana Francis ASC lead teacher
